How to Get Washboard Abs Without Doing Crunches

When lowering them back down, don`t put them all the way to the floor. Lower them to a few inches off the ground and then use your abdominal muscles to pull them back up again.

The front part of your abdomen is only half the battle. You will also need to work out the sides. To do this exercise, you will need to be laying on the ground again but instead of having your hands at your sides, clasp them behind your head, with your head raised slightly off the ground. Pull your knees up so they are right above your hips. Slowly lower your legs to one side, not fully putting them on the ground. Then, pull them back over your body and onto the other side. Use a smooth, continuous movement back and forth until both side muscles are totally fatigued. This normally doesn`t take long.

The great thing about both of these exercises is that you do not need nearly as many repetitions in order to get a great workout. Doing just ten leg lifts is more effective than doing a hundred crunches, because it is better at stimulating and challenging the muscles in this area of the body. They are also better for your back and your posture. They will help you learn how to get washboard abs quite quickly, instead of it taking forever when it comes to doing crunches.
